Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine, and it is a way to show off the books you can't wait to be released!!
This week I chose:
"Hero" Woodcutter Sisters #2
by Alethea Kontis
Harcourt
Release Date: Oct 1, 2013
The following description is from goodreads.com:I think what I like the most about this book is the title "Hero" with a picture of a girl on the cover. Yes, girls are heroes! I love it. The story sounds wonderful.
Rough and tumble Saturday Woodcutter thinks she's the only one of her sisters without any magic—until the day she accidentally conjures an ocean in the backyard. With her sword in tow, Saturday sets sail on a pirate ship, only to find herself kidnapped and whisked off to the top of the world. Is Saturday powerful enough to kill the mountain witch who holds her captive and save the world from sure destruction? And, as she wonders grumpily, "Did romance have to be part of the adventure?" As in Enchanted, readers will revel in the fragments of fairy tales that embellish this action-packed story of adventure and, yes, romance.
What are you waiting for this week???
I agree. She's got the pretty dress but you can tell she's in control of this journey! lol
ReplyDeleteThis sounds so good.
What a great pick, Carrie! This is the first I'm hearing of it, but now it's totally on my TBR. :)

ReplyDeleteIt could be lots of fun and I'm really happy there is a girl hero too.
ReplyDeleteI've seen these books around and they have the coolest covers. I may have to read them sometime!

Saturday sounds like a great role model for girls!
ReplyDeleteNot the first time I've seen this one and I doubt it will be the last. Sounds like a potentially great read and I TOO love the cover combo. Heroes do not come in one-size-fits-all (or gender) packages. ^_^
