My Review:

This book is amazing!! It's full of so many awesome crafts based on the Cartoon Network show, "Adventure Time". I honestly want to make every single project in this book! I love that there are projects for all skill levels. Not ready to try sewing Finn's hat or the Jake plush? You can try the itty bitty felt finger puppets or bobby pins! All of the projects can be done exactly like the examples in the book, but the author also encourages the reader to make changes and add personal touches to each project. I just love that creative thinking is really encouraged, especially since this book will appeal to a young audience. It's so great to encourage kids to think outside of the box!

Most of the projects seem very inexpensive to make as well. I think $5-$10 and a trip to the local craft store could get you started on almost all of the projects. Many involve felt and they should be pretty foolproof since patterns are included in the back of the book for you to photocopy.

My favorite project may be the sweater featured on the cover, Bubblegum's Like-Like Sweater. The sweater is absolute genius and I can't believe I haven't thought of doing something similar already. The author takes a store bought sweater, and uses duplicate stitch (a kind of embroidery that mimics a knitted pattern) to add a simple version of her fave character to the front.

In case you didn't notice, the authors of this book are Chelsea Bloxsom and Princess Bubblegum herself! The intros to all of the projects are written in the princess' voice, and they are seriously fun to read! Even if you don't ever make any of the projects, an Adventure Time fan will love reading Princess Bubblegum's descriptions and looking at the annotated illustrations throughout the book.

Bottom Line:
This book is a surefire way to make a tween, teen, or adult fan of Adventure Time a happy camper this holiday season!
